REFLECTIONS

Reflections is a collection of unsettling speculative fiction, weird horror, and narrative poetry. Some pieces have been previously published elsewhere; some are brand new and unseen.

From the introduction:

These stories and poems are echoes and mirrors. They are dreams of the future and memories of the past. They are waves of movement that ebb and flow, rising and falling in turn. They are proof that beautiful things can come from ugly situations. That sometimes—if I may borrow some words from my past self, first written in one of the included works—“there are times when the world seems so dark you feel smothered, as if buried, thrust deep within the Earth. But like a seed, nurtured by the tender hands of sun and rain, you’ll grow again. You will rise.”

Ebook only.

SEEDS

It begins with a seed. A dream. An idea, planted and encouraged to grow. A thought that buries deep down inside and puts out monstrous roots. Until, at last, the bloom erupts and showers the land with life.

It begins with a seed…

The menopause brings some unusual and unexpected changes, a woman wakes up after a party in a body that isn’t hers, a teen’s life changes forever when they embrace the truth about who they are, and a lone mother tries to bury her traumatic past but instead grows a terrible future…

An unsettling selection of quiet horror and dark speculative fiction brought together in a brand new collection from Australian Shadows Award-winner, Tabatha Wood.

ALL THE LAIRD’S MEN

Corporal Hopkins just wants to go home. After many years serving with the Laird’s Men, he deserves his freedom. But while the long war that fractured New Britain may be over, Raiders in the Scottish forests still pose a deadly threat.

Charged with dismantling a roving horde, Hopkins and his elite unit are outnumbered and woefully unprepared for the real horror that awaits them. From the shadowy depths of the great Loch Ness, an ancient evil is rising.

When the battle for survival in an unforgiving country never ends, Hopkins knows it doesn’t matter which side you’re on. In the darkness, everybody bleeds the same.

PLEASE NOTE: This book contains themes of violence and strong language throughout. Recommended for mature readers.
