T. L. Wood is a double award-winning Deaf / disabled author, essayist, artist and poet from Aotearoa New Zealand. They mostly write weird, unsettling, speculative fiction and quiet horror, while their art mixes elements of the natural world with the supernatural.

T. L. writes extensively from lived experience, and has long promoted writing and art as being integral supports of good mental health. In 2020 Tee co-edited the charity anthology Black Dogs, Black Tales with award-winning author Cassie Hart in support of the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand. They have published numerous essays in the past ten years focusing on horror and positive mental health. Their art often explores how to depict and process trauma in hopeful and positive ways.

Since completing a course in mental health crisis response, they are currently pursuing two diplomas in Psychology and Art & Creativity, with the aim of working in Art Therapy and mental health support. They are also the Mental Health Initiative coordinator for the Australasian Horror Writers Association.

When not studying, making art or writing books, they like strong coffee, soft cats, and spending time by the sea.
